Phishing—or “vishing”—scams impersonate SED employees or websites attempting to collect licensure and personal information from the licensee. If you receive an inquiry which you believe to be suspicious do not provide any information. To verify if the inquiry was from OP, contact OP directly using the following contact information. Choose a Pathway for applying for licensure as a RN in New York State:

RN Pathway #1 For graduates of New York State approved nursing schools (and never licensed as a RN).

These instructions apply to applicants for licensure as a RN who:

  1. have never been licensed as an RN; and,
  2. graduated from a nursing education program registered by NYSED as licensure qualifying for RN.
