• SPRING semester admission: Aug. 1 to Dec. 1*

Graduate Student Applicant Deadlines

Application deadlines

• FALL semester admission: begins Oct. 1*
• SPRING semester admission: begins Aug. 1*
  • Some masters and doctoral degree programs accept applications only for fall — not spring — admission.

  *Important notes

  • Each master's and doctoral program has its own application deadline. For individual deadlines, contact the program of interest directly, or use the Cal State Apply Application Dates & Deadlines search tool.
  • Two (2) applications are often required — one to the university and another to the individual graduate program. Please read Graduate Admissions and contact the program of interest.

  Graduate Concurrent Enrollment

  CSU Fully Online Courses Program

  • Fall 2024 semester: Aug. 12 to Aug. 30, 2024
  • Spring 2025 semester: Jan. 6 to Jan. 24, 2025

  Intrasystem Concurrent Enrollment (ICE)

  • Fall and spring semesters: You must file the ICE application form before the closing date set by the individual graduate program, available in the Cal State Apply Application Dates & Deadlines search tool.
    

  Returning Student Applicant Deadlines

  Undergraduate students returning in good standing

  • FALL semester admission: Oct. 1 to July 15
    
  • SPRING semester admission: Aug. 1 to Sept. 30
  • Athletes , veterans and returning international applicants may have different application deadlines.

  Returning undergraduate students who were previously disqualified

  Starting Spring 2025 and later, you can request readmission to CSUN using the Welcome Back Form during the following dates:

  • FALL semester admission: Oct. 1 to Jan. 31
    
  • SPRING semester admission: Aug. 1 to Sept. 30

  Returning graduate student application deadlines

  Second or Additional Bachelor’s Degree
