I don’t think that there’s a flower that makes me think as much of summer as sunflowers and our free printable sunflower templates means that you can make loads of sunflower crafts at home, in a classroom or preschool with minimal effort.
This sunflower craft template has two designs that you can download and it’s going to make getting creative together feel so cheerful!
What You'll Find on This Page
I love these cheerful, bright flowers and I hope that these large sunflower templates are something that will help to brighten your day too.
The PDF file contains two different designs so that you can choose the outline that’s perfect for what you want to make.
The first design is more basic with the blank centre at the middle of the flower while the second template has seeds drawn on to the middle of it.
Want to make a whole garden of flowers? It would look gorgeous on the bulletin board of a classroom or preschool! Why not check out our flower template, daffodil template and tulip template too, they’re all free to download.
Grab your markers, crayons or coloring pencils and decorate your sunflower. You can go for traditional yellow, orange and brown or create a brand new design.
Using the template with a blank centre add some seeds to it using fingerprints. All you need is a plate or tray with a little bit of paint on it and you’re ready to go with this super easy craft.
Make sure you keep a wet cloth or wipes near by to clean up messy hands afterwards.
Instead of fingerprints you could use cotton buds (q-tips) to make dots in the centre of your sunflower or use pom poms if you’d like to create bigger circles.
If you like you could also use this effect over the petals of your sunflower to color it in.
Use PVA or school glue to stick sunflower seeds to the centre of your flower. I’d recommend using cardstock for this activity as it’s less flimsy than normal paper.
My daughter loved making these coffee filter flowers and they’re a great way to try out some process art too.
Young children can practice using scissors with this easy flower craft that would look great on the front of a card or you could use green cardstock for the background to make a garden scene.
